News From Our Office

Thank you for your support last week — it was full of excitement! We celebrated our 100th Day of School, enjoyed a fun STEAM Night, and introduced our new TIGERS expectation, Tolerance. It was indeed an eventful week in Tigerland.
Thank you to everyone who attended STEAM Night last Thursday; it was a fun evening for all. We loved the beautiful performances from our 1st and 3rd graders. A special thanks to our PTO Dad's Club for providing dinner that evening — the pasta was delicious. Thank you, PTO, for your continued support of our Tigers.

Make sure the designated person brings their ID and is listed in Aeries prior to arrival. Only individuals on the contact list will be allowed to pick up a student, and they must be 18 years or older. We will NOT call a student up before you arrive. Thank you for your cooperation

For auditing purposes, please ensure that the sign-out sheet is fully completed. Please read the sheet carefully and include the student's first and last name, grade, time, reason for leaving, and your signature.

Caeer Day

Georgia Brown Dual Immersion will be celebrating our annual Career Day, Tuesday, February 10, 2026. On this day we are celebrating our community. I would like to invite you to come to our school and share your career with our classrooms.
We have reserved the morning from 8:15 am-1:00 pm to have community members, parents and grandparents present to our students. Each session is approximately 20 minutes. We have 26 classrooms full of students that are ready to listen and learn about the exciting careers in our community.
Topics to focus on:
  • Your educational or career path
  • Did you have any struggles to overcome?
  • Describe your job and show supplies/materials
  • How often do you speak Spanish, or do you have the need to speak Spanish?
  • Any advice for students.
You are welcome to indicate a particular classroom or grade level to read to. Feel free to bring materials and or uniform.
If you are interested in presenting for our Career Day, please contact Ms. Cagliero by email at tcagliero@pasoschools.org with the time that works best for you.

Elementary Athletics

Volleyball Championships are here!
Please read the following information carefully regarding our championship games:
When and where is it?
Thursday, February 5th, 2:00pm at Glen Speck Elementary School, 401 17th Street, Paso Robles. Parents will enter through the library entrance door to the right of the main gate entrance.
*Parents must sign in at the office with a valid ID in order to be permitted on campus. A QR code will be sent in advance to allow you to complete the sign-in process prior to arrival. Parents will not be allowed on campus prior to 1:45pm.

How will my student get there and back?
Students will take the bus to Glen Speck Elementary School. The bus will arrive on campus at 1:00pm and students will be dismissed from class. There will NOT be a return bus to (SCHOOL NAME) Elementary School. All athletes must be picked up at Glen Speck. Your child’s safety is our number one priority and they MUST be signed out by their coach by a parent or guardian before leaving. Please let me know if your student will NOT be participating in championships this week!
What should my student bring?
Students should bring their (SCHOOL NAME) jerseys and a change of clothes to school if they will not be playing in what they are wearing that day. Students should bring a water bottle and athletic shoes. No hats are allowed to be worn during games. For safety reasons, students who are not wearing proper footwear will not be able to participate (No crocs!). Students will be taking their backpacks on the bus, so be sure to have your kiddos keep track of their personal items.
How will the match look? How long will it be?
Our championship matches will be a single elimination bracket tournament beginning at 2:00 pm. Subsequent matches will begin immediately after the match prior to them has concluded. Each team will play a match of the best 2 out of 3 games. Games in a match are played to 25 points and must be won by 2 points. Rotations are made after the opposing team loses a serve. A server continues to serve until a rally is lost OR until the team scores three consecutive points with the same server, in which case they will rotate positions but keep possession of the ball. If a third game is needed, once one of the two teams reaches 7 points, the teams will swap sides and continue to play from the same spot in their rotation. This is not a time out.
Spectator Guidelines:
It is the spectators responsibility to enjoy the game within the bounds of good sportsmanship. It is fun and exciting to watch any competitive sport and natural to cheer for your student/team. Good fans also recognize good play and hard work from either side. Please be respectful of our volunteer coaches, volunteer referees, and opposing schools. Games may be halted or concluded prematurely if spectators display disrespectful behavior or aggression towards coaches, athletes, or student referees, and they may be requested to exit the courts. Our main goal is to make sure the kids have a fun and enjoyable experience!

We also ask that spectators not play with volleyballs during the games. Our school has a limited supply of volleyballs, and some have already gone missing following the season’s matches. If you happen to find any volleyballs around the courts please return them to a coach. We thank you for your cooperation!

What do I do with my jersey after the game?
Please wash all jerseys and return to the office by Tuesday February 10th!. Jerseys are required for the upcoming Track & Field season, so it's crucial that they are returned promptly. Lost or damaged jerseys have a replacement cost of $30.

Questions, comments, concerns? Please feel free to reach out and I will get back to you as soon as possible!
