Dear Paso Schools Families,
Even though winter weather is distant memory, March 20th marked the first official day of spring. Just 9 school days stand between us and Spring Break, and the anticipation of a holiday combined with Paso-perfect weather can have a...squirrely effect on all of us, students and adults alike.
Will you join us in committing to finishing this stretch before Spring Break strong?
A few small, consistent habits can make a big difference in helping students stay focused, engaged, and on track:
-
Stick to routines: Keeping consistent bedtimes and morning routines helps students show up ready to learn—even when the days feel longer and lighter.
-
Stay connected to school: A quick check-in about assignments, upcoming tests, or activities can help students stay organized and accountable.
-
Keep attendance a priority: Every school day matters, especially as teachers wrap up units and prepare students for what comes next.
-
Channel the extra energy: Encourage positive outlets after school—sports, outdoor time, reading, or creative activities—to help balance that springtime restlessness.
-
Model the mindset: When students see adults staying committed, positive, and focused, they’re more likely to do the same.
This time of year can feel like a countdown—but these days are still full of meaningful learning, important connections, and opportunities for students to build the internal habit and confidence of finishing strong.
Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting your students and our schools. We’re almost there—and we’re in it together.

Chris is a motivated, goal-oriented 4th-year Automotive student serving as a practicum student and teacher's assistant in the pathway. He has competed in SkillsUSA's Power Equipment contest and is returning to compete for the California state championship. Chris recently restored a 1936 Caterpillar D2 crawler, which was featured in the nationally distributed Jensales Classic Tractor Calendar and displayed at the Mid-State Fair. As an active SkillsUSA leader and 2026 chapter officer, he helps plan community outreach projects including the Pioneer Day and Downtown Holiday Light parades. We're proud to have Chris as part of our CTE program! Congratulations, Chris!
