Another great week is in the books!
We want to start by saying a huge "Thank You" to our wonderful parent community. Last week was Teacher Appreciation Week, and our staff felt truly celebrated. We are honored to partner with you in your child’s education.

Celebrating Student Success: Reclassification
We are incredibly proud to announce that we recently celebrated our reclassified students! This milestone marks a significant achievement in English language proficiency. This success is the result of years of hard work by our students and the dedicated "team effort" from both our teachers and you at home. Go Tigers!

Happy Mother’s Day
We would like to wish a very Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers, grandmothers, and motherly figures in our community. Thank you for everything you do to support, nurture, and guide our students every day. We hope you have a wonderful weekend surrounded by family.

🎉 End of the Year Celebrations
The end of the school year is approaching fast! You will soon begin hearing from teachers regarding end-of-year trips and classroom celebrations.
To ensure you can join in the fun, please take note of our Volunteer Requirements:
  • Volunteer Packet: If you would like to participate as a volunteer in any celebrations (on or off campus), you must submit your volunteer packet. Please do this soon; you will not be allowed on campus or to go on field trips without an approved application.
  • Fingerprinting: Field trip volunteers are required to be fingerprinted.
  • Already fingerprinted? Wonderful! You don't need to do it again, but you still need to submit a fresh volunteer application for this year.
Pro Tip: Don't wait! Clearance can take time, so submit your paperwork soon to ensure you don't miss out on the end-of-year festivities.
A group of students proudly hold certificates of achievement on a stage decorated with balloons and a tiger inflatable.

Important Safety Reminder: Bikes and Scooters

As we work together to keep our campus safe, we ask for your help in reminding students about bike and scooter safety.
  • Walk Your Wheels: To prevent injuries during our busy morning drop-off and afternoon dismissal, students may not ride bikes or scooters once they reach campus. Please remind them to hop off and walk their wheels until they are off school grounds.
  • Safety Beyond the Gates: We have received several reports of students riding unsafely in the surrounding neighborhood. Please remind your children to slow down, stay alert, and always look both ways before entering traffic or crossing the street.
Our priority is ensuring every student gets to and from school safely. Thank you for your cooperatio

Absences
If your student is absent, please report it to the office within three days, otherwise they are considered truant. You can report your student's absence by:
  • Google Voice TEXT ONLY (805) 769-4596
  • Emailing: gb-attendance@pasoschools.org
  • Calling our Office at (805)769-1200

Student Pick Up
Please ensure that you ALWAYS bring your ID in when checking out a student. If someone other than a parent will be picking up the student, please call ahead to inform us. Please make sure the designated person brings their ID and is listed in Aeries contact list prior to arrival. Only individuals on the contact list will be allowed to pick up a student, and they must be 18 years or older. We will NOT call a student up before you arrive. Thank you for your cooperation

For auditing purposes, please ensure that the sign-out sheet is fully completed. Please read the sheet carefully and include the student's first and last name, grade, time, reason for leaving, and your signature.

Library News - Books and Chromebooks

It's time to Return Library Books and Turn in Chromebooks!

💻 📚 Time for a "Tech & Text" Roundup!

Dear Georgia Brown Tiger Families,

The school year is almost in the books, and it’s time for our Tigers to sharpen their claws for one last mission! Before we head off for a summer of prowling and playing, we need to gather all our Georgia Brown gear and bring it back to the den.

🐅 The "Must-Catch" List:
Please help your Tiger track down these items hiding in your jungle:

  • Chromebooks & Chargers: This applies to our 2nd through 5th Grade Tigers who checked out a device for home use! 💻
  • Hotspots: If you have one of these "internet-in-a-box" gadgets, they need to be returned too. 📡

  • Library Books: We need to round up all those adventurous tales! To help you hunt them down, I will provide a list of checkouts for each student next week (following our first round of turn-ins) so you know exactly which stories still need to find their way back to the shelf. 📚

✨ The Tiger "Grooming" Guide:
Before turning in your Chromebook, please make sure it’s ready for its official inspection:
  • Power Up: Make sure it is fully charged and ready to roar! 🔋
  • Clean Your Device: Give the screen and keyboard a good wipe-down. No sticky paw prints or stickers, please! 🧼
  • The Fine Print: Our team will be checking each device. Please note that fines will apply for items returned damaged, assessed on a case-by-case basis.
  • Charger Alert: Please remember that Chromebook chargers are not covered by insurance. They must be turned in with the device, or a $25 fine will apply.

🐾 A Note for our 6th & 7th Grade Tigers:
You’ve earned your stripes! You will be keeping your Chromebooks with you all summer long. Keep them safe and charged for next year’s adventures! (Note: Hotspots and library books still need to be returned if you have them).

Thank you, Tiger families, for helping us keep our "territory" organized and our equipment in great shape. We couldn't do it without our amazing community. Let’s finish the year with a ROAR!

With Tiger Pride,
Ms. Cagliero
GBDI Librarian
